Are you looking to do a playground makeover? Check out this inspiring renovation! This playground in Cranbourne East had some major issues with flooding and a lack of natural elements. We designed and formed a dry creek bed in the centre that would allow extra water to drain. This works well with the existing bike track, which we re-surfaced to have different textures and added two arched bridges over the new creek bed.
In the toddler’s play area there was already great vegetation along the roadside. We worked with this by introducing natural materials to enhance the play. Adding logs along the garden edge to encourage balancing and interaction with the vegetation. In the nursery yard we focus on altering surfaces to allow children to explore textures as they learn to crawl.
These simple changes have greatly enhanced this play area, while still allowing plenty of running space and opportunities for ball play.
