Truganina

This childcare centre is build entirely upstairs! We use a range of loose materials on rooftops that allow children to explore. Natural logs and boulders are also a great way to feel grounded (while adding a balancing challenge!) We worked with the educators at Kool Kidz Truganina to know what they were hoping for in their play yard, providing open areas for ball play and curving planter boxes to form quiet-play nooks. Plants were selected to include a range of textures, including Pennisetum setaceum rubrum (purple fountain grass), which have long fluffy flowers. The deep purple foliage also ties into the warm-natural colour palette, with contrasting cool-greys to match the building.
