Crafting Age-appropriate Dynamic Outdoor and Indoor Play Spaces for All-Weather Exploration and Learning
Collaborating with our esteemed repeat client has been an absolute delight, as their commitment to fostering children's natural propensity to learn through play and discovery aligns seamlessly with our own purpose. The renovation of this childcare development's indoor and outdoor play areas was a comprehensive undertaking by our experienced landscape design and construction teams. The senior indoor play area boasts a large custom fort unit, featuring three platforms, a double slide, a rock-climbing wall, climbing net, and ramped and clatter bridges to facilitate gross motor activities. We also introduced bike paths for exploration and a basket swing for brain stimulation. The indoor nursery area is sectioned off with raised decking, incorporating a sandpit and a pitched roof arbour frame. The deck platform provides a thrilling descent via a double slide, surrounded by a sensory path with varied textures like cobbles and pebbles.
Transforming a warehouse car park into additional outdoor play space posed the challenge of replacing concrete with natural surfaces and planting environment. This new space features outdoor components such as balance beams, log stilts, steppers, a rope traverse, tunnels and bridges. A yarning circle, complete with log seats, adds a touch of nature to the environment, fostering a holistic outdoor play experience.
