Revitalising Natural Playscapes for Holistic Early Learning Centre
Embarking on a project to enhance the play experiences at this boutique Early Learning Centre and Kindergarten, known for their passion for holistic education and nurturing environments, was an inspiring endeavour. The North Yard saw transformative improvements, including the integration of a log climber and vertical wall with slots into the existing treehouse fort. The rope net was replaced, and a tower with a ramp and slide added for an extra thrill. Water play was elevated with a dry creek bed adorned with loose pebbles, rock and log edging, and balancing beams. A weatherproof roof was added to the cubby, complete with a U-shaped bench and pegboard. The Buddy shed and Skillion roof shed provided practical storage solutions. Landscaping enhancements featured a wobble log replacing the rope bridge, a bush log and pole archway, new bluestone steppers, extended rock and log edging for the sandpit, and a bridge/tunnel crafted from large flat boulders. Abundant planting completed the transformation.
In the South Yard, additions included a skillion roof shed, a timber arbour over the sandpit with a surrounding timber deck and boardwalk, a timber arched bridge with a rope bannister, and cypress balance beams. Premium synthetic turf with softfall rubber underlay, crazy pave, square pave, and cobbles provided safe and visually appealing surfaces.
Collaborating with a client who shares our strong commitment to the environment and sustainability made this project a joy, resulting in enriched play spaces for the young minds at this beautiful, high-quality, alternative early education and childcare centre.
